Mahogany and pine with a early, probably original finish retaining most of the original hardware. The baize cloth was handmade to match the remnants of the original cloth available with the piece.

A rare Philadelphia desk form with a baize cloth covered top.  Similar examples are at Carpenter’s Hall, part of the Independence National Park.
