Initialed “ARS’ and dated “1858”. “Simmons” painted on the underside. Signed on both runners “Gage, Painter”.
Researched in 1990 by Edward F. Holden, Goffstown, NH. See attached photo of a card attached to the underside of the sled discussing its’ history. He attributes the ownership of the sled to Albion R. Simmons of Manchester and identifies the painter as Henry A. Gage who was operating an “Ornamental Printing” shop in Manchester at the time.
