We are delighted to welcome Abigail ‘Abby’ Flannery as our new office assistant at Olde Hope Antiques. Many of you may already know her as Abby Starliper of the American Decorative Arts department at Christie’s, New York, where she worked for the past nine years. It was there that we got to know Abby, particularly when we worked closely with her and Andrew Holter on the sale of the Kristina Johnson collection. Her recent marriage to Joseph Flannery resulted in a move to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
After three years, our previous assistant Allison Richard left to take a full time position with Rago Auctions in Lambertville, NJ. Just when we thought it would be impossible to find such a capable individual along came Abby! Her time at Christie’s has given her a broad knowledge of American decorative arts, particularly folk art and furniture, and excellent office skills in researching and cataloguing. Among her most important duties will be to keep the website current and posting on social media, a skill more suited to a Millennial than a Boomer. Abby’s cheerful and positive personality is a welcome addition to any day at Peaceable Farm, and we hope you say ‘hello’ when she comes to New York in January with us for the Winter Antiques Show!
