Delmar Yungmeyer was a founding member of the Chicago chapter of the Railway and Locomotive Historical Society, chartered in 1936.  Arthur Dubin was an architect and life-long resident of Highland Park.  He was the author of two important books on railcars, Some Classic Trains (1964) and More Classic Trains (1974), as well as a railroad archive and photography preservationist.  This vane sat atop Dubin’s mid-century modernist house in Highland Park.
